Paul Hobbs is the “Steve Jobs of Wine”

According to Forbes, Paul Hobbs’s determined precision lends easily to the comparison between him and Steve Jobs, the visionary co-founder of Apple. Known for being obsessive about quality and having been twice named “Wine Personality of the Year” by Robert Parker, Hobbs’s combination of talent, determination, and charisma has made him a superstar in the wine world.

Luckily for you guys, we’re so in love with his insanely delicious Malbecs, we’re holding a tasting party for them this Thursday and will be carrying at least one of them indefinitely from here on out.

More on Hobbs

Hobbs was originally hired by Robert Mondavi as an expert in oak aging, and later moved to Opus One and finally to Simi Winery before opening his own wineries. What he may be most famous for, however, is his belief in the winemaking potential of Argentina, despite the skepticism within the winemaking community.

His pioneering in Argentina has helped bring the region into global prominence, and he now shares his talents with us through his own Argentinian wineries: Paul Hobbs and Vina Cobos. He also consults and “finds good dirt” for big name¬†winemakers all around the world.

Paul Hobbs’s attention to detail and ability to see what others cannot brings us some amazingly nuanced and finessed wines that we are very excited to drink horde share with you.
